This Stratocaster, bearing the "JV" serial number and dated 1983, is a testament to the early days of Fender Japan. Fender Japan was founded in 1982 by Fender, Yamano Music, and Kanda Shokai to counter the growing Japanese copycat scene. While positioned as a budget USA model, it's well-known that Fujigen's masterful assembly and craftsmanship ensure exceptionally high-quality guitars. While the serial number is unknown due to the replacement of the original name-engraved joint plate given to early buyers, the small "Made in Japan" inscription on the headstock identifies it as a product of the early JV era. This particular example also comes with the original owner's case, which was only given to purchasers within the three-month period starting in November 1983 (the zipper is damaged). While this ST62-65 is an entry-level '62 model, it's nonetheless a serious model featuring USA pickups. This is a genuine Stratocaster that has been thoroughly matured over the course of approximately 40 years and stands out from other Japanvin models.

There are noticeable scratches and dents all over the product, and cracks in the screw fixing parts of the back panel. The truss rod is approaching its limit in the forward warping correction direction (tightening side), but correction is still possible. There is plenty of room in the reverse warp correction direction. The neck curvature has been adjusted with a rod. It is close to straight, but if you judge carefully, when the treble string side is adjusted to be straight, the bass string side has a slight forward curvature.
