While popular since its inception as the "Beetle Gear," the Japanese-made Casino guitars have garnered increasing attention for their high quality as production has shifted from Matsumoku to Terada Musical Instruments, Korea, and China. This instrument is from the orange label period, when Terada Musical Instruments took over production from the now-defunct Matsumoku and moved production to Korea. While hidden away during the Matsumoku period (late 1970s to around 1987), Terada-made Casino guitars are just as popular as Matsumoku-made ones, thanks to their reliable quality and rich tone. The truss rod works well, and there is plenty of room for adjustment in both the forward and reverse warp correction directions. The neck curvature has been adjusted with the rod. It is close to being straight, but if judged strictly, there is some waviness overall. The frets have been worn down. Therefore, the frets are slightly shorter overall.
