Product overview We now have in stock the JB-45J, a 1997-2000 model, one of Fender Japan's most affordable jazz basses! In the mid-'90s, Fender launched the Standard Series as a budget-friendly series accessible to everyone. Initially, the basses were made in Mexico, and even though they were Fender Japan, they were listed as being made in Mexico in the catalog. Then, in 1999, the Fender Standard J Series was released. While slightly more expensive than previous entry-level models, it marked the debut of a Japanese-made, budget-friendly model. The JB-45J was the first budget-friendly jazz bass to be released at that time. While later renamed to the JB-45 and JB-STD, it remained in the lineup until Fender Japan discontinued its production in 2015. This model also marked the introduction of Fender's traditional Candy Apple Red color at a budget price. With its standard specifications, good looks, and solid performance, this is a highly recommended Japanese-made model that remains a favorite to this day!

The truss rod works well, and there is plenty of room for adjustment in both the forward and reverse warp correction directions. The neck has been adjusted with a rod and is now almost straight. There is a slight amount of wear on the frets, but there is still enough left that it doesn't interfere with playing.
