Product overview This 1997 semi-vintage Epiphone guitar is from the late '90s, during the early stages of production shifting from Japan to Asia! We've just received a rare '56 model, the "LES PAUL '56 GOLD TOP." This model was in the lineup from 1998 to 2003, and is a reproduction of the 1956 model featuring a gold top and P-90 pickups. While this would normally be a mahogany body, this particular instrument actually has an alder body. The specifications listed in the catalog were quite vague, with either mahogany or alder for the body and alder or maple for the body top, and likely varied from one production unit to another. (This instrument has a maple top.) To add insult to injury, this guitar also has a maple neck! It's a bit rough, and the more you're a Les Paul enthusiast, the more you might shy away from it. However, the "creepy" design unique to this era is addictive, making this a must-have for any enthusiast!

Detailed explanation	There are some minor scratches, but considering the age of the car, there is little damage and it looks relatively clean. The truss rod works well, and there is plenty of room for adjustment in both the forward and reverse warp correction directions. The neck curvature has been adjusted with the truss rod. There are some small ripples and twists throughout the instrument, but they have been adjusted so that they do not cause any problems when playing. This can be covered to some extent by changing the settings, but you may still notice some buzzing depending on how you play. The frets are still high enough that they don't interfere with playing.
