We have received an extremely rare 1980s Epiphone Les Paul Standard made by Matsumoku Industrial! As any enthusiast will know, MATSUMOKU is a highly regarded Japanese vintage guitar manufacturer whose name is known even overseas. They used to manufacture guitars for many brands, including Aria, Greco, and Epiphone, but production ceased after Matsumoku Industrial dissolved in 1987. Since then, the brand has continued to gain fans little by little. This particular instrument is one of the few Les Paul Standard models made by them, and boasts high quality in every aspect, including a heavy two-piece mahogany body, a thick solid maple top, a deep joint that extends to below the pickups, a Gibson small headstock and the old Epiphone logo, and original pickups with the "MMK" engraving. The dry, vintage tone that has developed over time is very appealing, making this a truly exquisite instrument.

Overall, there are scratches, dents, signs of use, and tarnishing and rust on the metal parts. The truss rod is nearing its limit in the forward bow correction direction (tightening), but further adjustment is still possible. There is ample room for adjustment in the reverse bow correction direction. The neck curvature has been adjusted with the truss rod, but some slight upward bowing is visible. It has been adjusted so that there are no issues with playability. The frets are still high enough that they don't interfere with playing.
