Product overview We've just received a 1990 Les Paul Reissue, a member of the "Pre-Historic" series that would later become the Historic Collection! In the early 1980s, as vintage guitars became increasingly popular, Gibson aimed to return to the original (the 1959 Les Paul Standard) by producing a number of Les Pauls with stunning grain, such as the "Heritage 80" and "59 Vintage." Following this trend, from the mid-1980s until the launch of the Historic Collection in 1993, the "Les Paul Reissue" reigned as the pinnacle of classic-style Les Pauls. This particular example is no exception, featuring a beautiful quilted maple veneer on a mahogany back and HB (Board pickups), delivering a thick, bite-filled, harmonically rich Les Paul sound. While the modern Historic Collection and True Historic models excel in terms of vintage reproduction, the Pre-Historic guitar surpasses them with its superior appeal.
