Product overview We've just received a 1990-1991 (K serial number, made in Japan) Telecaster from the "Electric-Acoustic" series, a model from the early '90s. While the model name is "TLAC-950," it was quietly produced as an uncataloged model in those years. It reappeared in the catalog in 1992 under the name "TLAC-100," but disappeared from the catalog in 1994, making it a rare model. While listed as a "TLAC-950" based on its production date, the specs are identical, so there's no significant difference between the two. It features a hollowed-out mahogany body combined with spruce, an acoustic-style bridge and saddle with a piezo pickup, and an electric-style lace sensor pickup in the electric neck—a true electric-acoustic hybrid. While it's currently strung with electric strings, it also sounds interesting with acoustic or gut strings, a guitar with great potential.
