Product overview We've just received a relatively rare "Crystal" model, one of Hide's many models! The Crystal model was released in 1991 as a "pro model" with a hand-carved acrylic body, called the "MG-480X" (¥480,000). In 1994, advances in manufacturing technology made it possible to machine the body, and the pickups were changed from EMG to FGI Technology, resulting in a redesign of the model into the "MG-115C" (¥115,000). Further technological advances reduced manufacturing costs, leading to a name and price revision from the "MG-115C" (¥115,000) to the "MG-75C" (¥75,000). However, rising prices and raw material costs subsequently led to a price increase again, from the "MG-85C" (¥85,000) to the "MG-105C" (¥105,000). This model has had an unusual history. This particular guitar has a serial number on the neck end, suggesting it may be the "MG-85C." Its heavy weight is a bit of a downside, however. It will look amazing on stage! The truss rod works well, and there is plenty of room for adjustment in both the forward and reverse warp correction directions. The neck has been adjusted with a rod and is now almost straight. There is a slight amount of wear on the frets, but there is still enough left that it doesn't interfere with playing.
