Product overview This summer Nagoya obi (obi) from Echigo johu features a black background with a checkered pattern woven on one side. This Echigo johu is a breathable linen fabric characterized by its crisp texture. It features a pine needle-like weave with a length of approximately 14cm. Suitable for: Komon (small pattern), Tsumugi (Echigo johu. Echigo Jofu, the "Queen of Summer Kimono," has been passed down in the snowy Uonuma region for 1,200 years and is designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Property of Japan. The hand-spun, ultra-fine ramie thread is meticulously woven on a loom, resulting in an incredibly thin, lightweight, and exquisite texture. The "yuki-arashi" process, in which the fabric is exposed to sunlight on snow, highlights the plant's natural whiteness and creates a unique, refreshing translucence and brilliance. It does not stick to the skin and is cool and comfortable, allowing the breeze to pass through, making it a supreme item that is said to be the most luxurious formal summer wear.
