Product overview We've just received a rare '77 Mustang model from the 2012 Fender Japan lineup, which was at the end of its lifespan! The MG77 was previously only available as a custom-order model from a dealer and wasn't listed in the catalog. It was added to the regular lineup in 2010, becoming a top-tier Mustang model. Did you know that Fender used ash bodies on Mustangs from 1974 to 1982? The 1978 Mustang, used by a guitarist who is remembered for his Mustangs, also had an ash body. This model pays homage to that era, being the only ash-bodied Mustang from Fender Japan. Perhaps due to the weight of the ash body, it produces a more subdued sound than the '60s models, making it a truly unique instrument.
