Product overview We've just received a 1999 Classic Series Stratocaster, a Mexican-made version of the American Vintage Series! This instrument was part of the Classic Series, a series that served as a sort of Mexican-made equivalent of the American Vintage Series! It was in the lineup for 20 years before being replaced by the Vintera Series in 2019, and this is one of the earliest examples. While the series transitioned to an alder body around 2002, this is one of the few examples with a poplar body. While the Vintera Series took a more "modern-vintage" approach, this one aims to be a pure vintage reissue, a category not seen in current Mexican-made models. The truss rod works well, with ample room for adjustment in both forward and backward bow directions. The neck curvature has been adjusted with the truss rod. There is some twisting, but it does not affect playability. The frets show wear from pressing the strings, particularly on the low positions of the 1st through 3rd strings, but this does not interfere with playability.
