Product overview The "Chrono Bunkyo Tokyo" is a creation of independent watchmaker Hajime Asaoka. This model is limited edition "GRAND HAGANE" model released in 2021. Its greatest feature is the dial, which is made using lacquer, a traditional Japanese craft. It is finished in a beautiful dark brown color known as "hagane-iro" (steel color), reminiscent of the base metal of swords. The indexes feature Chinese numerals, including large characters, used in ancient Japanese timekeeping. This highly artistic timepiece beautifully combines traditional Japanese beauty with outstanding watchmaking techniques.
