Detailed explanation |
neck date 1984 The "JV Serial" Stratocaster, a proof of the early days of Fender Japan, is now in stock! This instrument is the "ST72-65" that was published in the 1985 catalog until 1989. At that time, Fender Japan had a series called "COLLECTORES SERIES", and in addition to "EXTRAD" and "LIMITED EDITION", there was also "PLAYERS", which was designed with famous musicians in mind, and this instrument was one of them. . With the white color, black parts, and scalloped fingerboard, you can instantly tell who was in mind. However, as of 1985, there was still no mention of scallop, and the body material was listed as either sensuality or basswood. In 1986, the ST72-75 with a maple fingerboard was introduced, and along with this model with a rose fingerboard, it had a scallop specification and the body was either alder or basswood. (It is also said that this specification was introduced at the request of Mr. Yngwie.) (This instrument has a basswood body.) Did you scallop the neck that was completed earlier to match the specification change? In any case, the mishmash of specifications born during the transitional period gives us a strong sense of Japan vintage. There are noticeable scratches and dents throughout, dullness/rust on the metal parts, and cloudy paint. The truss rod works well, and there is plenty of room for adjustment in both the forward and reverse warp correction directions. The warp of the neck has been adjusted with a rod. Since it is a somewhat old instrument, there is some slight distortion and rattling overall, but there are no particular issues with playing it. |
