Detailed explanation |
Made in 1980 Japanese-made Epiphones were manufactured by Matsumoku Industries from the 1970s to the mid-1980s. Among them, the most popular "Blue Label" Riviera is now in stock! When manufactured in Japan, the PU was changed from a mini-ham to a humbucker, producing a plump yet loose, elegant Riviera sound. Blue Label tends to get attention from casinos, but Riviera is just as wonderful. The body binding shows signs of decay. It is simply glued on with adhesive to prevent further decay. The fingerboard has peeled off from the nut to the 5th fret and is being repaired with adhesive. Unlike its contemporaries, it has over-fret binding and may have been rebound. There are noticeable scratches and dents, signs of use, and dullness/rust on the metal parts. It is in condition appropriate for its age. The truss rod works well and there is plenty of room for adjustment in both directions. The warp of the neck has been adjusted with a rod. Since this is a vintage instrument, there may be some slight waving or twisting overall, but we have adjusted it so that it does not cause any performance problems. The frets are showing some wear due to pressing the strings, mainly in the low positions of the 1st to 3rd strings, but they are still intact and are in good condition for playing.
