We have received the Greco Les Paul Professional copy model "PE-520", which was manufactured until the early 1970s! This is a copy model of the cheaper version of the Les Paul Personal, the prototype of the Les Paul Recording. It appeared in the catalog as the PE-480 in 1972, and the following year it was renamed the PE-520, at the same time that the Les Paul Recording Model RD-600 was released. (Since it is not possible to determine the exact year of this instrument, for convenience it is listed as the PE-520.) The phase switch is equipped with two tone controls, blade type and rotary type. Equipped with high-sensitivity pickups made by Maxon, this is a truly professional guitar. The period in the catalog was short, and it is not widely available, so this is a must-have for collectors. There are some scratches and dents overall, but considering the model year, there is little damage and it looks relatively clean. The truss rod works well, and there is plenty of room for adjustment in both the forward and reverse warp correction directions. The neck has been adjusted with a rod and is now almost straight. The frets are generally worn, but it does not interfere with playing.
