Detailed explanation	Made in 1983-1984 We have received the "SQ serial" from the early days of Fender Japan, which has fewer in circulation than the "JV serial"! The model featured in the catalog is the entry-level 1972 model, the ST72-55, which was introduced in 1985. It differs from the higher-end model, the ST72-70, in whether it uses alder, and there is also a Ritchie-style model, the ST72-65, with a scalloped fingerboard. This unit has numerous upgrades, including CTS pots, CRL selectors, Orange Drop capacitors, and Switchcraft jacks. Features such as a large head and bullet truss rod give it an appealing rock look and sound among Stratocasters. There are scratches and dents throughout. The truss rod works well, and there is plenty of room for adjustment in both the forward and reverse warp correction directions. The neck has been adjusted with a rod and is almost straight. The frets have been sanded down. As a result, the frets are slightly shorter overall. However, there is still plenty of fret height, and it does not interfere with playing.
