The acrylic body hide model was released in 1991 as a "pro model" that was carved by hand, under the name "MG-480X (480,000 yen)". In 1994, advances in manufacturing technology made it possible to cut the guitar by machine, and the pickup was changed from EMG to FGI Technology, resulting in a renewal to the "MG-115C (115,000 yen)".
