Product overview [As-Is] We now have the EB-135 bass guitar, a model from Greco's early days in the 1960s! While many people associate Greco with a Japanese brand, it's actually an overseas brand, established in 1960 as a second brand for Goya, the Swedish guitar manufacturer Levin's American-sold brand. At that time, OEM production was outsourced to Fuji String Instrument Manufacturing (Fujigen) in Japan, and in 1971, Fujigen acquired the trademark rights in Japan, boosting its reputation with numerous copy models. Greco's subsequent success is well-known. The catalog from the time describes this instrument as a "semi-acoustic electric bass," evoking a nostalgic impression. While this instrument is actually fully hollow, it is described as "semi-acoustic" because the distinction between full-acoustic and semi-acoustic guitars wasn't clearly defined in Japan until the 1970s. Not only does it have a warm yet crisp sound that's full of atmosphere, but the rounded logo that was only seen in the 60s evokes a sense of nostalgia and melancholy. There are traces of the neck where it was glued back together after being broken.
