Product overview We've just received a guitar from the "SE Series," which Yamaha began manufacturing for overseas export in the mid-1980s! While the SE would later evolve into a slimmer, more rounded shape, this "SE-700E" was among the first models in the lineup and positioned as the top of the line. This bright red SE700E graces the cover of the 1985 overseas catalog. At the time, models like the Super Stratocaster-like RGX hadn't yet been released, and this unique new series, featured alongside the popular SG (known overseas as SBG), AE, and BB, is easily imagined as a flagship model that signaled the dawn of a new era for Yamaha.
