Product overview This Epiphone Newport Bass was born in 1961! We've just received a guitar from the Matsumoku Kogyo era, around the late '70s to early '80s! It features a pop double-cutaway design, similar to the Wilshire guitar model, and a neck-through construction. It's a 2-volume, 2-tone bass equipped with a toaster pickup and two jazz bass-style pickups. The bridge pickup is the same as the Greco Tetsu Yamauchi model, also produced by Matsumoku Kogyo around the same time. This instrument was converted to fretless, so the frets have been re-strung and the fingerboard has been properly adjusted, ensuring it's in top playing Condition! Enjoy this rare vintage Matsumoku bass! Note: There are some stains on the case that resemble blue paint.

The truss rod works well, and there is plenty of room for adjustment in both the forward and reverse warp correction directions. The neck has been adjusted with a rod, but it is slightly raised from the joint. The frets have been replaced and are in almost perfect condition.
