Product overview The SG-2, one of Yamaha's first electric guitars, released in 1966, has arrived! The serial number is two digits, suggesting it is an early production model. It is the ancestor of all Yamaha guitars bearing the "SG" name, making it a very important model in Yamaha history. At a time when Teisco and Guyatone guitars cost anywhere from a few thousand to 20,000 yen, it was priced at a steep ¥42,000. However, its solid construction and high quality, comparable to imported products, make it worthy of the name "Yamaha of the World."
