Many may think that "Squier" is a lower-end Fender model, but during this era, Fender Japan only allowed traditional models to carry the "Fender" logo. Guitars with ambitious specifications like medium scale, humbucker models, and endlocks were released under the "Squier" name, along with more affordable models. The top-of-the-line model, the "ST952," had a list price of ¥95,000, making it a much higher-ranking model than the average Fender Japan model. This "ST552" features two humbuckers, unusual for a Stratocaster, and a matching headstock in a candy apple color. While the specifications differ from the catalog, such as the lack of endlocks and an escutcheon mount, this instrument is believed to be genuine. The truss rod works well, and there is plenty of room for adjustment in both the forward and reverse warp correction directions. The neck has been adjusted with a rod.
