We've received a Yamaha SB-55 from the "Super Bass (SB)" series, which supported Yamaha basses in the 1970s before the legendary "BB" series! The greatest appeal of this bass lies in its original shape, which maintained its unique style even during an era dominated by Fender copy models. With its slightly angular body lines reminiscent of the SG and its distinctive pickguard shape, it exudes a retro-modern Showa-era atmosphere unlike modern basses, giving it a powerful presence on stage! Combined with its aged patina, despite having the same two-pickup configuration as a Jazz Bass, it delivers a more rugged, gritty, and "down-to-earth" rock sound.
