Product overview We have received a TL52-600 with a burner finish, manufactured around 1987-1988, which stood out even in the catalogs of the time! This model, which emphasizes the contrast of the wood grain by burning the surface of the body, is a rare specification that will make Japanese vintage fans drool! In the late 1980s, basswood was not simply a "cheap material" for Fender Japan (made by Fujigen), but was intentionally chosen because it "has less unevenness in resonance and brings out the characteristics of the pickups honestly." The combination of a one-piece maple neck and a basswood body maintains the sharp attack characteristic of a Telecaster while also possessing a singing midrange. This is a historically valuable instrument for players who do not want to compromise on either looks or sound.
