Product overview We've just received a new 5-string bass model from MOON, a long-established manufacturer of Japanese component guitars! The MBC model, produced before multi-string basses were even mainstream, remains a perennial favorite and a perennial favorite. This limited edition model was produced in 1993, marking Moon's 15th anniversary. It features mahogany sandwiched between ebony, a Hawaiian koa top and back, and a sturdy wenge/bubinga neck with a neck-through construction for a truly substantial feel. It features two built-in truss rods for added neck strength. The pickups are Bartolini 72BC5C, and the preamp is also Bartolini's TBT. The controls are a 2-volt/passive tone control (push/pull active/passive), and a dual EQ. The beautiful sound, with solid overtones and a pronounced attack, truly embodies a modern sound. Even in today's increasingly diverse 5-string bass market, this guitar's quality is truly in keeping with MOON's signature.

The truss rod works well, and there is plenty of room for adjustment in both the forward and reverse warp correction directions. The neck has been adjusted with a rod and is now almost straight.
