Detailed explanation |
We have a left-handed model of the SE500, one of the Greco Fender copy models produced from the 1970s to the early 1980s, in stock! In the 1980s, Greco's lineup became dominated by Gibson copies and they became more and more highly regarded, but until the early 1980s they also produced a variety of Fender copies. This instrument does not have the "SPACY SOUND" label that was on the Stratocasters of the time, but the pickup is engraved with "31276", so we assume it is a PU-100 and have determined that it is a mid-range "SE500" from the late 1970s. It has a soft V-shaped neck and 50's specs, and outputs a sound full of vintage feel. This is a piece that allows you to experience the depth of good old Japanese vintage. There are noticeable scratches, dents, and paint cracks throughout. The truss rod works well, and there is plenty of room for adjustment in both the forward and reverse warp correction directions. The neck has been adjusted with a rod. It is close to being straight, but if judged strictly, it is slightly raised (raised from the joint). There is no problem with playing it. There is a slight reduction in the frets, but there is still enough left that it does not interfere with playing.
